Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Rabita Committee Deputy Convener Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that Shaheed-e-Inqalab Dr. Imran Farooq was a symbol of courage and perseverance in the movement for fight against injustice. He was true and sincere leader of the movement and loyal activist of Mr. Hussain. We cannot doubt his loyalty to the movement. It was unthinkable that he was planning to launch his own party.
He expressed these views while talking to media on the third death anniversary of Dr. Imran Farooq at the Lal Qila Ground Azizabad. On this occasion family members of Dr. Imran Farooq, including his mother and sisters and members of Rabita Committee and members of different wings of MQM and workers were present.
Dr. Khalid Maqbool said that their movement has passed through difficult trials and tribulations. Thousands of martyrs have laid down their lives for the movement. Today, we have assembled here to commemorate one such martyr. He said Dr. Imran Farooq was a symbol of courage and perseverance. We have learnt many things from him during our struggle. He was a role model for the workers.
He said he was with the Qaid-e-Tahreek since the inception of MQM, which was launched to bring real democracy in Pakistan and achieve the objectives for which Pakistan was created. People who were against the movement developed hatred for Dr. Imran Farooq.  He sacrificed his life for the revolution for which thousands of workers have sacrificed their lives. This movement for fight against injustices will go on as long as honest and loyal people are with it.
He added that we could not doubt the loyalty of Dr. Imran Farooq. He said that MQM would not impede the investigation of investigating agencies.
He said that Dr. Imran Farooq was a loyal worker of the movement and he never planned to make a separate organization. He said that truth would prevail by the grace of Allah and the truth would emerge.
Dr. Imran Farooq’s mother was present at the occasion. She said that London police asked us if we suspect Altaf Hussain for the murder. We said we did not suspect anyone. Rabita Committee member Haider Abbas Rizvi who was present said that some people wanted to make their desire a news. They would not succeed. It is difficult to hurt a movement which had a person like Dr. Imran Farooq.
