Nadeem Nusrat appeals COAS to intervene in Karachi

The Convener of Muttahida Quami Movement Nadeem Nusrat once again appealed the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif over the misuse of power by some elements of security agencies and exploitation of Karachi-operation.
 
Addressing to a press conference from London Secretariat along with Mustafa Azizabadi and Qasim Ali Raza through video link, Nadeem Nusrat requested the COAS to take immediate notice over the discrimination against MQM. He said that the Haqiqi terrorists and Kamalo group were being used to torture and threaten MQM workers and supporters.
 
He said that the security agencies were to protect the boundaries of the country and they should do their work. He said most unfortunately some elements from LEAs protecting those terrorists groups to complete their malice agenda to harm MQM.
 
He said that they were also the loyal citizens of Pakistan and it was incomprehensible that why were they being maligned for nothing. The MQM Convener said that they had proofs in audio recordings regarding supports to those groups torturing and threatening MQM workers and supporters; could be presented to the authorities. He said that the workers were being said that if they did not leave the party, their lives would turn to be miseries, while joining Kamalo group or Haqiqi terrorists would give clean chit from everywhere.
 
He said that the people of urban Sindh had continuously been given their mandate for the last several decades to MQM and it was evident that MQM was the only represent of urban Sindh. He said that some conspicuous elements were trying to discriminate the people’s mandate given to MQM and bringing some fake representatives to exploit people’s rights.
 
He said that it was MQM demanding operation against the terrorists and criminals causing serious threats to the peace. He said that PPP’s backed People’s Amn Committee created a scary environment throughout the city by extortion, ransom and other terror activities but soon after the operation was started it was turned towards MQM.
 
Nadeem Nusrat said since the operation was started, it seemed that only MQM was targeted and its innocent workers were being arbitrarily arrested and booked in fake cases to implement the policy of criminalization in Karachi. He said that nearly 4820 workers were arrested and booked in fake cases while the custodial torture was routine practice.
 
He said that total 1027 workers were detained in various jails and 155 workers were forcefully disappeared after their arrests by the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs). He said that at least 60 and odd workers were brutally tortured in LEAs’ custodies and were extra-judicially killed.
 
He said that if such discrimination would carry out against any other political party, it would be eliminated from the political scenario but MQM workers and supporters were dedicated and committed to the party and Altaf Hussain. He said that the innocent MQM workers were arbitrarily arrested by the LEAs while the Haqiqi terrorists were allowed to execute their malice agenda to threatened MQM workers and supporters to manipulate the mandate.
 
He said that the drama in the name of Karachi operation was carried out for last three years and the severe action was taken against MQM if found any tip but complains against Haqiqi terrorists seemed neglected by the Rangers and other security agencies and nobody wanted to take any action against Haqiqi terrorists.
 
Nadeem Nusrat said that on the other hand the Kamalo group pressurizing workers and supporters to betray MQM and Altaf Hussain and ensured them they would help even if anyone would be arrested. He said that when the worker refused to betray MQM and join the Kamalo group Ranger and other agencies reacted against him and arbitrarily arrested him.
 
The MQM Convener said that it was disgusting the Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation was unofficially banned to collect charity to serve the people in their needs. He said that thousands of MQM martyrs families were deprived of their essential necessities after the ban of collection of charities and donations.
 
He said that MQM did not demand to create Muhajir province but to suggest immediately create new provinces and administrative units in the country. He also demanded to recover all the forcefully disappeared persons and handed them over their bereaved families.
