MQM condemns 6 innocent workers’ arrests

MQM condemns 6 innocent workers’ arrests
 Posted on: 6/3/2016 1
The Coordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement strongly condemned illegal raids and arbitrary arrests of six innocent MQM workers in Shah Faisal Colony, Malir and Liaquatabad by the Rangers.

In a statement, the Coordination Committee said that such discriminating tactics could not discourage workers moral and nothing could hinder them to struggle for their rights. It said that the Rangers arrested Kamran Siddiqui of UC-7 of Shah Faisal Town, Ayaz Ahmed Siddiqui, Muhammad Amir, of UC-5 Malir and Yahya Khan, Muhammad Salman and Sharafatullah of UC-41 Liaquatabad Town, and transferred them to unknown location.

The Committee said that neither the bereaved families nor MQM were being informed regarding their whereabouts. It said that nothing was told about their alleged crimes. It said that it was sheer violation of human rights and clearly showed intention behind the so-called Karachi-operation.

The Coordination Committee said that the workers were being punished for not leaving MQM that should be categorically condemned. It said that the Rangers and police were regularly arresting MQM workers that reflected political victimization and continuously harm the image of national institutions.

The Committee once again established the fact that MQM had no armed wing and it was sheer propaganda against the only representative of urban Sindh and Urdu-speaking community. It demanded the authorities to stop the arbitrary and illegal arrests and raids of MQM workers and their houses respectively. It also demanded to release innocent workers immediately.
