The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has condemned the brutal murder of Dr Aftab Qureshi, in-charge of the neurology department of Liaquat University Jamshoro, in Hyderabad. He was kidnapped from Karachi. They extended sympathies to the bereaved family members and students.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the rising incidents of kidnappings for ransom gave an impression that there was no existence of the law-enforcing machinery in Karachi. Criminal elements were operating with impunity having no fear of the long arm of the law.
The Co-ordination Committee prayed Allah to rest the soul of Dr Qureshi in eternal peace. They demanded of Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take notice of the brutal killing of Dr Qureshi. They called for iron-handed action against the kidnapping rackets operating in Karachi for protecting the life and property of citizens.
