MQM demands resignation from PM Nawaz Sharif
LONDON, 02-05-2016:
An emergency meeting of the Coordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement of Karachi and London was held at Khursheed Begum Secretariat through video link to discuss Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s involvement in Panama Leaks and demanded his resignation.
In a statement issued from London Secretariat, Nadeem Nusrat, Convener Muttahida Quami Movement presided over the meeting and discussed the current political, social and other issues. The participants of the meeting were informed that a huge number of Pakistan nationals were deprived of their fundamental rights, including clean drinking water, health, electricity, employments and educations.
The meeting was resolved that the law and order situation was deteriorated and the government was responsible to resolve all the issues in priority but it seemed that it did not pay any heeds to the people’s issues and investing billions of dollars in mega projects. It said that rather announcing such projects with high investments, the government should concentrate on people’s issues.
The meeting also discussed the most thrilling issue, the Panama Leaks and the crisis rose after it appeared on the media. It said that the entire nation had been divided into two. It said that in civilized societies the government officials voluntarily resigned from their post and presented themselves for investigations.
The meeting discussed the prevailing facts of involvement of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family members in such a mega scandal. It said that new evidence against the PM had been floated and the nation seemed in serious crisis of official leadership.
The Coordination Committee appreciated the formation of judicial commission to probe the facts of the allegations on the PM and his family members. It said that if Nawaz Sharif would hold the seat of PM during the commission’s investigations, the opposition may claim its credibility.
The Coordination Committee said that to prove honesty with the smooth process to investigate the facts, the Prime Minister should immediately and voluntarily resign from his post to rescue the nation from Panama Leaks’ crisis. It said that the PM should support the nation to step forward and let the commission to do an impartial investigation.
