The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has the mandate of millions and the people in urban Sindh have despite all propaganda manifested their unending support to it. This portrays a resolve of the people, who are in millions that no malicious agenda or any propaganda could succeed in making dreams of selective elements of eliminating the MQM. The leaders, Parliamentarians and workers of the MQM are being chased wildly by a handful of elements in forces that are bent upon crushing the MQM while misusing their powers and offices, which the Chief of the Army Staffs (COAS) General Rahil Shareef should take notice and play his role for stopping this unlawful activity.
The overall impacts of such an agonizing scheme would only harbor damages to the country. The MQM has the backing of millions and hence it would be useless effort to plan for its elimination. Those, who have joined the dissenters block led by Mustafa Kamal and others, were also threatened of dire consequences and the MQM is keeping full record of calls from secret or open numbers. The MQM is ready to produce these records of proof to the COAS provide d that a delegation of the MQM is allowed to meet him at any appropriate time.
MQM Coordination Committee (CC) (London) Convener Nadeem Nusrat said this while addressing a press conference at Khursheed Begum Secretariat in Azizabad, Monday.
He was flanked by CC members Mustafa Azizabadi, Inbisat Malik, Izhar Ahmed Khan and Muhammad Ashfaq.
It would never happen to see that the law and order could be maintained when the violations to the laws of the country are vastly made parallel to the efforts for maintaining it, said Nusrat, adding that the allegations so far leveled against the MQM and the MQM’s founder leader Altaf Hussain do not have any ground in form of proofs but such a campaign is meant to malign the party for the vested interest of a handful of the elements with powers in hands.
MQM is the sole political party that has under the dynamic leadership of Altaf Hussain brought revolution of which a sheer example is the elections of people from low-income class of the society have been raised as Parliamentarians, reminded the MQM CC convener.
It is very unfortunate to see that the MQM founder and leader Altaf Hussain had in recent past produced a mammoth rally in support of the armed forces of Pakistan and he had offered sincere salutations but still he has been sidelined by a planned scheme under which he is being called as agent of agent of any enemy country’s spy agency – RAW, he deplored.
On the contrary, the people in millions continued to supporting the MQM and adhering to the ideology of the MQM Chief, which resulted in sweeping general and by-elections. It is a candid clear rejection to the elements that are maligning the MQM and its founder and leader Altaf Hussain for the wrongs they never committed that all the allegations and nefarious propaganda, argued the MQM CC Convener.
He pointed that a section of the national media is bent upon maligning the MQM and its founder and leader Altaf Hussain for all the unrest. However, this particular agenda is tantamount to negating the genuine record of genocide of Mohajirs by the anti-Mohajir elements.
Nusrat said that long before the MQM and emergence of the MQM Chief Altaf Hussain as sole and undisputed leader of Mohajirs, Mohajirs were subjected to lethal ethnic violence in which thousands were slaughtered on streets. The massacre of Mohajirs in Aligarh and Qasba, the bloodshed of Mohajirs in Hyderabad had all dated back when the MQM was not in being. The media and others are reluctant to narrating those tragedies in which the Mohajirs were the sole victims prior to the creation of MQM and Altaf Hussain as their sole and undisputed leader.
Not a single from those, who carried massive bloodshed of the Mohajirs has so far been arrested and taken to task, he said.
It is also very unfortunate that the national media that always sidelined the MQM is now indulging in deep relations with those dissenters, who ran the MQM for 20 years. These elements were always unacceptable until they were in MQM but today they are their beloved after having been dry-cleaned, he informed.
The recent rebel Ashfaq Mangi was facing various legal cases and was hiding here and there to escape arrest. The mounting pressure had led him to jump into the dry cleaning machine being installed in KHayaban-e Sahar in DHA and now he is safe and free from all worries as are others in this dissenters block, he said.
The MQM CC Convener Nadeem Nusrat said that Karachi adds 70 percent of total revenue of the country but still the governments do not spend on development of this city. The rights of the people have to be given. The powers should be devolved down to grass root level and the elections of Mayor and Deputy Mayor has to be given for the resolution of grievances of the masses.
