The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr. Altaf Hussain demanded immediate release of MQM’s Deputy Convener Syed Shahid Pasha and Masood Siddiqui, younger brother of member of Coordination Committee Qamar Mansoor.
Addressing to a gathering thronged to celebrate the victory in by-elections, MQM Chief said that it was enough and let the people to live their houses and arrests of innocent people should be stopped now. He said that Masood Siddiqui was not active in MQM for the last 10 to 12 years and currently tendering his ailing mother.
After the arrest, his mother went to the Rangers headquarters with MQM’s lawyers to meet him but she was not allwed. He said that the Deputy Convener Syed Shahid Pasha was a gentleman who was in Rangers’ custody for few days. He said that both the detainees should immediately be released to remove misunderstandings and misperceptions.
Meanwhile, MQM Chief Mr. Altaf Hussain expressed his deep condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families of the victims of a firing incident at Shafiq Mor. He also prayed Almighty Allah to confer high eternal ranks to the demises and give courage to the families to bear the loss.
