MQM condemns use of water cannon against professors

The Coordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement strongly condemned the torture and use of water cannon against the protesters of Sindh Professors and Teachers Association (Sipla) in front of Chief Minister’s House.
In a statement, the Coordination Committee said it was shameful that the demonstrators were tortured who took out a protest rally in their favor. It said that the government should listen to them and rather addressing their legal issues it utilized torture to silent their voice.
The Committee said that the torture and arbitrary arrest of teachers could leave negative impact not only on the teachers but also on their pupils. It demanded the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to immediately take action against those were responsible of utilizing water cannon and torture against the protesters.
