MQM MNA’s, Senators protests Altaf media ban at Parliament House
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) members of National Assembly and Senate of Pakistan yesterday protested in front of Parliament at Constitution Avenue.
Senior Deputy Convener and parliamentary leader of MQM in National Assembly Dr Farooq Sattar, Deputy Convener Nasreen Jalil, MNAs Kunwar Naveed Jamil, Suffiyan Yousuf, Iqbal Muhammad Ali, Abdul Waseem, Salman Mujahid Baloch, Maulana Tanveer-ul-Haq Thanvi, Senator Muhammad Ali Saif, Mian Ateeq, Khushbakht Shujaat, Tahir Khokhar Parliamentary leaders in AJK Assembly participated in the protest demonstration. The parliament building resonated with the slogans demanding lifting of media ban on speeches, statements by MQM chief Altaf Hussain.
Senior MQM leader, Dr Farooq Sattar addressing the protesting elected representatives said that they gathered to express solidarity with their leader. We consider the ban as anti-democratic, un-constitutional and discriminatory as even leaders of the banned out fits are free to make statements but there was a black out of our beloved leader on media, he said.
