Altaf Hussain terms media ban rights’ violation

The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr. Altaf Hussain said that he accused of being traitor because he had been unfolding the tactics of malice intenders.
Addressing to the participants of a symbolic hunger strike against ban on his speeches, news, views and interviews on media at Karachi Press Club, MQM Chief said the media blackout on his appearance and speeches is sheer exploitation of human rights and freedom of speech. He said that neither the Constitution nor the religious norms could seize the right to freedom of speech.
Mr. Hussain said it was evident that the violation of rights always resulting grave consequences what also the country’s history taught when Pakistan was divided into Pakistan and Bangladesh. He said it was reaction of excessive military and bureaucratic activism against a suppressed community of the country.
He thoroughly appreciated prominent journalist Mehmood Sham for participating at the symbolic hunger strike against the media ban on him. He also applauded MQM office-bearers, workers and supporters for the unmatchable commitment and dedication for the struggle of rights.
He said that the ruling elite deliberately advanced those supporting their vested interest and suppressed all the voices against the status quo through media ban, like Altaf Hussain. He said that MQM would also succeed to raise voice for the 98 percent deprived and unprivileged people of Punjab.
Mr. Hussain said that the communal bifurcations were created by Almighty Allah to let the people know themselves and their clans. But he did urge the most common trait among the man is love and Allah create man to share love and respect to each other.
He said that he wished Pakistan to have genuine and honest rulers who could guide the country towards prosperity and development. He said that Pakistan had abundant potential to explore which could conquer the world.
MQM Chief also thanked to the visiting faculties and delegates of numerous political, social, religious parties, trade organizations and social fraternities, especially, journalists, artists and traders. He said that it was time to remove all tensions and differences to support ongoing war against terror, especially Zarb-e-Azb.
