MQM announces hunger strike at 10-Downing Street
 Posted on: 2/13/2016
Coordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement has announced a two-day hunger strike in front of 10-Downing Street (the official residence of British Prime Minister) against the unconstitutional and undemocratic ban on the speeches, news and interviews of MQM Chief Mr. Altaf Hussain at print and electronic media.

In a statement issued from London Secretariat, the Coordination Committee said that the decision was taken in a meeting presided over by MQM Convener Nadeem Nusrat. It decided that MQM Coordination Committee would sit on a two-day hunger strike to protest against the draconian law violating human rights.

The Committee said that the strike would be started on Monday 15th February at 10 AM UK local time and would be ended on Tuesday 16th February at 6 PM and hugely participated by the members of Coordination Committee, MQM workers and supporters. It is pertained to mention here that the government of Pakistan had banned the pictures, speeches, news and interviews of MQM Chief Mr. Altaf Hussain on print and electronic media. MQM had already organized various protests and rallies against such discriminations of human rights and right to freedom of speech.
