PPP’s govt. renders wick ploy to manipulate dist mayor elections

The Senior Deputy Convener of Muttahida Quami Movement Dr Farooq Sattar said that the PPP’s government was using wick tactics to stop MQM winning District Chairman elections in South and West.
 
Talking to a press conference at Khursheed Begum Secretariat, MQM Leader said that the local police also involved in threatening to the candidates of chairman and vice-chairman. He said in that connection, three employees of a brokerage house were also arrested yesterday.
 
Dr Farooq announced complete support and solidarity to the business community of Karachi and termed the action was a conspiracy against the capital market. He said that MQM would fight the rights of the business community and would take rally for the cause.
 
He demanded the Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar to take immediate action against the suspicious incident and should ensure the entire legal process would be transparent. He said that the incident created insecurity among businessmen in Karachi and could bring grave consequences of the country’s financial activities.
 
He said that the historical success in the current local government elections, endorsed MQM’s mandates in the city. He said that MQM would win five out of six districts chairmen seats after the adjustments with independent and PML-N candidates.
 
Dr Farooq Sattar said that PPP and Sindh government were trying to force the independent and PML-N candidates not to support MQM for district chairmen and vice-chairmen seats. He said that in some incidents area SHOs, especially SHO Kallary Arshad Khan and Lyari gang-war criminals were being used to threaten the candidates.
 
He demanded the provincial government to behave according to the constitution and should avoid such activism which enticed any provocation. He also demanded to empower the LG system according to its genuine spirit for serving the people. He said that by using force to alter the mandate of the people could bring serious consequences at the end.
