Condemning the killing of a deputy superintendent police and three other police officials in an encounter with armed dacoits near Safari Park, Muttahida Quami Movement’s Coordination Committee’s members, said that the bravery with which the officials fought with the armed terrorists would help boost the morale of Sindh police.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Coordination Committee said that it was a highly commendable act on the part of DSP Qasim Ghauri and three other police officials as they did not even bother about their own lives while fighting with the armed criminals and, as such, their bravery has helped boost the morale of Sindh police, besides restoring public confidence in the department.
The Committee also voiced its concern over the presence of a large number of armed dacoits at the Safar Park which, being a major recreational spot, often remained crowded with public, including families, women and children.
It said that though the black-sheep present in the police department had badly tarnished its image, the Thursday’s act of bravery demonstrated by its brave and dutiful officials has boosted the department’s morale.
Paying tributes to the police officials who laid down their lives in Thursday’s encounter, the Committee demanded of Sindh Governor, Dr Ishratul Ibad and Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take a serious notice of the presence of the criminal elements at the recreational spots.
It also urged the Governor and the Chief Minister to pay a substantial compensation to the heirs of the martyred police officials and recruit each member of the deceased officials in the police department.
