MQM to pursue legal way to empower LG system

MQM leader Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi said that the grand success in local government elections widened a new chapter in the long struggle of MQM to come up with hope of the people.
Speaking at a press conference at Lal Qila ground, Azizabad, MQM leader asserted that soon after taking oath to the offices of mayors and vice-mayors, MQM would pursue a legal process to empower the LG system. He also thanked to the people, especially Karachi and Hyderabad, for their support and votes during the elections.
He said that today’s Youm-e-Tashakkur reflected the gratitude and submissiveness to Almighty Allah for conferring such a grand success in time of struggling. He informed that MQM Chief Mr. Altaf Hussain had issued a clear directive for all the successful candidates to merely serve people on priority.
Haider Abbas Rizvi said that MQM had already rejected the 2013 Local Bodies System because even the elected mayor could not have any power to deliver to the voters. He said that the 2013 LG System empowered the corrupt bureaucracy again.
The system constrained the genuine deliverance to the people’s rights on their doorsteps as MQM promised its voters, he said. He added for that purpose MQM would pursue the legal process to empower the people representatives who would not be dependable of any corrupt bureaucracy.
