MQM celebrated 66th Anniversary of Pakistan with renewed passion and zeal. Country wide ceremonial functions were organized, where national anthem and national songs were sung. In Karachi the main function was held in Jinnah Ground Azizabad, adjacent to MQM ‘markaz’ 90, where exceptional arrangements were made. Thousands of haq parast people with families participated in the program and simultaneously recited national anthem with national flags in their hands.
Members of MQM Co Ordination Committee, Haq Parast Parliamentarians, Senetors, office-bearer and workers of different wings of MQM, prominent actors, singers and people from all walks of life were also participated in the celebration program in Jinnah Ground. A gigantic digital screen was set up just behind the central stage with the gigantic portraits of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah on the right side and Quaid-e-Tehreek Altaf Hussain’s on the left side. The function started at sharp 12 O’clock with simultaneous recitation of national anthem by the thousands of participants.
While hosting the program, national and worldly known actor Umer Sharif, openly acknowledged that this ceremonial function for 66th independence anniversary of Pakistan clearly depicted the love, sincerity and seriousness of Altaf Hussain towards Pakistan. He said that “by holding the national flag, our forefathers worked hard for the creation of Pakistan and now by holding the same national flag Altaf Hussain and we are striving hard to save Pakistan. He congratulated Mr Hussain on this auspicious occasion and said that Mr Hussain is among those who are struggling to save Pakistan.
Prominent and renowned artists Fareed Khan, Hassan Jahangir, Shabana Kausar, Shazia Kousar, Shabnam Majeed, Imran Javed, Shabir Zia, Safdar Zia and other artists sung the national songs and performed. Former test cricketor Basit Ali was also present in the program. Spectacular fireworks were displayed at the end of the program which caught special attention of the participants.
