MQM Co-ordination Committee has strongly condemned the continued arrests of innocent party workers by Rangers and other law enforcement agencies. It said that efforts were being made to suppress the MQM before the local government elections by use of repressive force.
The Co-ordination Committee said that Rangers arrested Imran, former unit in-charge of Unit 33, Lyari Sector and workers Munir and Gulfam. In another incident Imran Khan of Unit 76, Korangi Sector was also arrested by the CID and shifted to unknown location.
The Co-ordination Committee appealed to the prime minister, interior minister and the grievance redressal committee to take notice of the arbitrary arrests of MQM workers and stop illegal raids.
