Success of MQM mayor and deputy mayor in Hyderabad is certain: Altaf Hussain
Hyderabad: 27th October 2015.
MQM Founder and Leader Altaf Hussain has said that the election of MQM mayor and deputy mayor in Hyderabad has become certain with the unopposed elections of 242 party candidates. He said this while addressing workers and office-bearers in Hyderabad through a video link.

Speaking about the unopposed election of MQM candidates Mr Hussain said the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad consisted of 96 union councils. Out of these 96 union councils, MQM candidates for chairman and vice-chairman have been declared successful unopposed in 22 union councils. Complete MQM panels have been elected in 13 union councils which includes candidates for chairman, vice-chairman and general councilors.

Mr Hussain said that there are 384 seats for general councilors in Hyderabad and out of these MQM candidates have already won 198 seats. With the election of 242 MQM candidates, it has become certain that the office of mayor and deputy mayor of Hyderabad would be won by MQM.

Mr Hussain said that MQM mayors had won the office of mayor and deputy mayor of Hyderabad in the 1987 local government election as well.

Mr Hussain told the elected members to serve the people wholeheartedly.
