MQM decides to constitute an Inquiry Committee for Investigating the involvement of arrested person in Sectarian Killings

An emergency meeting of the Central Co-ordination Committee of MQM was convened by the Senior Deputy Convener Mr Nadeem Nusrat. After a long deliberation and consultation, the Central Co-Ordination Committee has decided to constitute an Inquiry Committee to investigate the allegations that some MQM members arrested during the last two years were involved in sectarian violence. The Inquiry Committee would comprise of impartial persons and its findings would be made public upon conclusion.   
The members of the Central Co-Ordination Committee unanimously agreed in the meeting that MQM would not defend any person connected to the MQM found involved in sectarian violence. The members of the Central Co-ordination Committee instructed officials representing the party on TV talk shows to promote sectarian harmony  and desist from remarks based on gossips. The members of the Central-Co-Ordination Committee resolved in the meetings that the party would continue to "Zero Tolerance"  policy for anti-social elements, criminals and terrorists. 
The members of the Central Co-Ordination Committee said that people are well aware that MQM believes in religious and sectarian harmony and preaches respect for each other's religion, sect and beliefs. Mr Altaf Hussain, Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) later ratified the decision of the Central Co-Ordination Committee.
