About 128 workers and supporters of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were forcibly disappeared during recent Karachi operation, said Babar Anees, chairman of MQM Committee on Forced Disappearance. Addressing a press conference yesterday at Karachi Press Club, Anees said that our fore fathers sacrificed to carve out a country where every citizen is equal and treated under law but in today's Pakistan, our workers and supporters are either made to disappear forcibly or fell victim to extra judicial killing. He said that the forced disappearance is in violation of UN Charter also.
Today the world is observing day for forcibly disappeared person and we also want to highlight the plight of families of missing wokers, said Babar Anees Shah appealing to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, LEA, UN and other international bodies to provice justice over forcible disappearance of the political workers.
