Faults should be cleared within reasonable time as prolonged power outages may lead to law and order situation in the city
The MQM Co-ordination Committee has expressed its concerns about the electricity situation in Karachi during the holy month of Ramzan. It said that the demand for electricity had risen due to hot weather, but the K-Electric was not generating enough power to meet the growing demand.
The Co-ordination Committee said that this widening shortfall in the generation of electricity and demand was the major cause of frequent tripping of feeders, short circuits and breaking of wires.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the K-Electric management should ensure that faults are cleared within a reasonable time as prolonged power outages could lead to law and order situation in the city.
The Co-ordination Committee urged on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to direct the K-Electric management to generate enough electricity during the holy month of Ramzan to keep the load-shedding at a minimum level and eliminating load-shedding at Sehr and Iftar times.
