Rangers brutality with political workers on the pretext of arresting terrorists has become a norm: Altaf Hussain

President Mamnoon Hussain should use his power to stop Rangers from committing excesses against people of Sindh
Mr Hussain said the Rangers brutality with political workers on the pretext of arresting terrorists is not only a violation of human rights but also completely against the UN Charter and the Constitution of Pakistan.
Mr Hussain said that MQM workers and office-bearers were being made to vanish. When the elected representatives contact local Rangers officials for getting information about arrested workers, they are not given any satisfactory reply.
Mr Hussain said that the arrested people are kept in custody for several months before declaring their arrests. Arrested workers are produced in courts for obtaining remand only after subjecting them first to inhuman torture in illegal and unlawful detention. This remand is taken for abusing the hapless MQM workers even more.
Mr Hussain asked President Mamnoon Hussain to use whatever powers he has to stop Rangers from committing excesses against people of Sindh. He said that the Rangers were also bound to follow the law and Constitution of Pakistan as any other citizen of Pakistan.
Mr Hussain said that the intellectuals should think about the security of Pakistan instead of competing in praising Rangers as the country is passing through a critical phase. Only the experienced and knowledgeable politicians can say if the country is safe or facing serious perils.
