Islam, UN Charter give people right to retaliate

The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr. Altaf Hussain said that Islam and the UN Charter gave the people right to defend themselves against any offence.
Talking to the members Coordination Committee, Parliamentarians, MQM office-bearers, and workers at Khursheed Begum Secretariat Azizabad, Karachi and Islamabad, MQM Chief during his detailed lecture answering a question said “Islam is a religion of peace and protection, which teaches to show patience, tolerance, love and pardon.” He said “Islam teaches us to understand and compromise to resolve the issues.”
He said “Islam also allows us to retaliate if being offended by aggressive attackers but with extreme restrictions, like respecting the rights of women, elderly people, children and sick persons. He said that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did not initiate early three wars and just responded the wars imposed on him and companions.
Mr. Hussain said that it meant that if a powerful entity kept attacking the weak one, the later had right to retaliate against any aggression. He said that Hazrat Muhammad PBUH made pacts with others to fight against the intruders like one of the pacts namely Mesaaq-e-Madina.
