MQM slams PM’s remarks on extra-judicial killings

MQM slams PM’s remarks on extra-judicial killings
 Posted on: 6/12/2015
The Coordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement has strongly condemned the statement of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for calling Karachiites “Makkhi” in context of extra-judicial killings in the city.
In a statement, the Coordination Committee said that Karachiites had no interest in calling for strike but called for protest to achieve their due rights. It said that the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), including police and Rangers kept arresting MQM innocent workers and extra-judicially killed them in the custody.
The Committee said that if nobody, including federal, provincial governments and security agencies bother to reconcile MQM’s grievances then it had nothing but to call for a strike. It said that it was unfortunate enough rather taking notice on extra-judicial killings of innocent civilians by the LEAs, while the Prime Minister made fun on the issue.
The Coordination Committee expressed its extreme despair over such remarks by the Prime Minister and said that the PM’s comment seemed mockery on the dead bodies which also increased anxiety among the bereaved families. It said that the PM should immediately recant his words and should apologize to the aggrieving families of the victims of extra-judicial killings.
