Armed Forces are responsible for protecting borders and life and property of people: Altaf Hussain
 Posted on: 6/11/2015
Rangers’ allegation of buying weapons from the money collected as Zakat and Fitra is unfortunate
MQM Founder and Leader Altaf Hussain has said that the armed forces of any country and allied military institutions are responsible for protecting its borders and life and property of people. “Hence the armed forces should do their job and civil administration and police should perform their duty.”
He was addressing several public gatherings in connection with the 37th Foundation Day of the APMSO. The main programme was held at Jinnah Ground, Azizabad. A large number of APMSO workers and students attended the programme.
Mr Hussain congratulated APMSO office-bearers and students and MQM workers throughout the world on the occasion of the 37th Foundation Day.
“APMSO is the movement of the deprived people. APMSO give rise to Mohajir Quami Movement and Mohajir Quami Movement was transformed into Muttahida Quami Movement, which was struggling relentlessly for the poor and disadvantaged people of the country.”
He termed as unfortunate the allegation by Rangers that the money obtained as Zakat and Fitra and by collecting hides of sacrificial animals are used for buying weapons.
“I am also collecting evidence of corruption done by people and I will lay before the public the details of the wealth accumulated by them by illegal means.”
“We will bring a revolution in Pakistan similar to the French Revolution and the feudal lords and corrupt people will be punished in public courts.”
Referring to the ban on his live addresses on television channels, he said, “A ban has been imposed on the live coverage of my speeches but this not for the first time in the 37 years history. I will continue to struggle having full faith in Almighty Allah and His justice.”
“I have been in exile for the past 25 years, but my struggle has not stopped.”
Referring to the meeting of the provincial apex committee in Governor House in Sindh, Mr Hussain said, “It was said in the meeting that money obtained as Zakat and Fitra was used for buying weapons. May Allah curse those who have made this baseless allegation! Allah will call them to account for their false claim.”
“Polling for the by-election to NA – 246 was deliberately delayed at several places. Many women complained on TV channels that Rangers were asking them as to which party they will vote for. At some places, Rangers personnel even asked women to stamp on “Bat” which is the election symbol of PTI.”
“Certain biased and chauvinist anchor persons having a grudge against the MQM were claiming that it would be difficult for the MQM to win in the by-election as Rangers personnel would be deputed both inside and outside polling stations. Even the counting of votes was done under the supervision of Rangers. These anchors could not digest the MQM’s victory with over 95000 votes.”
Mr Hussain said that the MQM collects Zakat, Fitra and hides of sacrificial animals for serving the humanity. “The money obtained is used for buying ambulances and coffin carriers. Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation of the MQM has always been at the forefront bringing relief to the people whether after the earthquake in Kashmir, famine in Thar or flooding in Punjab.”
Mr Hussain asked workers that collecting Zakat, Fitra and hides of sacrificial animals would be a challenge now, and a strategy should be evolved to make it a success.
Mr Hussain said, “The rulers say that General Pervez Musharraf broke the constitution in 1999. The fact of the matter is that when Nawaz Sharif government was dismissed on 12th October 1999, General Musharraf was travelling in an airplane. The generals on ground maneuvered the sacking of Nawaz Sharif government and took him in custody.”
“It is unjust to frame a case on General Musharraf under Article 6 of the Constitution and to give a clean chit to the officers who actually overthrew the Nawaz Sharif government.”
“They may institute a case against General Musharraf under Article 6, but action should be taken against the abettors as well as mentioned in the same article.”
Speaking about the plight of the poor people in Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, Mr Hussain said, “Feudal lords and chieftains have their personal jails where poor people are kept in captivity, but the Rangers cannot see it.”
“There was a flagrant display of weapons at the time of the Local Government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Several people died as a result of firing, but the Rangers cannot see it.”
“Allah is All-seeing and All-Powerful hence misuse of power against the MQM should stop.”
“Leaders of some political and religious parties raise the slogan of the revolution to mislead the people, but they are oblivious of the real meaning of revolution.”
“Imran Khan said that the generals were so cowardly that they would wet their pants if 20000 people came on the street. But he did not tell about himself.”
Speaking about allegations against levelled against him, Mr Hussain said, “They may falsely accuse us of anything. I am ready to face any charge in any court. I have not lied, and I have not broken any law. My hands are clean, and my conscience is clear.”
Mr Hussain asked the elderly people to tell their children about the APMSO. “You should tell your children about their identity because they will be asked about the birthplace of their ancestors. They will be told that they could not get the job because they are Mohajirs.”
“They are doing great injustices to us. Waqas Ali Shah was martyred during a raid at Nine Zero. Despite all this different types of malicious and fabricated charges are being brought against us. Those who want to declare the descendants of the founders of Pakistan want to destroy Pakistan. Whatever they may do but they cannot throw 40 to 50 million people in the sea.”
