MQM (America) holds demo at CNN headquarters
 Posted on: 7/5/2013 1
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (America) organized a protest demonstration in front of the famous broadcasting house, the CNN headquarters, against killings of party workers and the increasing acts of terrorism on the part of religious extremists and fundamentalists in Karachi.
The participants of the demonstration who included MQM workers, office-bearers, supporters and a large number of Pakistani communities living in the Atlanta city, were carrying placards inscribed with slogans such as `bring a halt to an unannounced operation against MQM’, `initiate prompt action against the extremist elements’, `bring an end to discriminatory treatment being meted out to Karachi and its citizens’, etc.
A large number of women, children, youth and elderly people on this occasion chanted full-throated slogans in favour of MQM and its chief Altaf Hussain.
MQM (North America) In-Charge Ibad-ur-Rehman, Central Organizer Junaid Fehmi, Joint Organizer Mohammad Arshad Hussain and Nadeem Siddiqui addressed the participants of the demonstration.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rehman said that Karachi despite being hub of Pakistan’s economy was being pushed towards instability while its citizens were being subjected to torture.
He was of the view that the aim of the conspiracy being hatched against the founding leader of MQM chief Altaf Hussain was to ruin the Quaid-i-Azam’s progressive and liberal Pakistan.
Junaid Fehmi in his speech demanded an immediate halt to the killings of MQM workers and an end to the discriminatory treatment being meted out to Karachi and its citizens.
Others who spoke on the occasion said that extremists and terrorists of the Lyari gang war under a planned conspiracy were subjecting MQM workers and sympathizers to torture, besides suppressing the voicing of the elected representative so as to deprive the citizens of their rights.
They vowed to continue their struggle for the rights of oppressed and suppressed people of the country under the dynamic leadership of Altaf Hussain.
Later, the participants of the demonstration prayed for the long and a healthy life of Mr Hussain and also for divine forgiveness of the party workers assassinated in the acts of terrorism.
