Members of Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have denounced the forced marriage of 13 years old girl with a 60 years old man in Peshawar. Mr Gulfraz Khan Khattak and Mr Yusuf Shahwani condemned the incident and said that the forced marriage of the young girl, subjecting her to bodily torture and keeping her in chains was disgusting.

The members said that the incidents of forced marriage of young girls with aged persons were increasing creating numerous problems in the society. Islam also denounces forced marriages and gives free will to women in selecting their life partner. They said that most of such marriages were related to fulfilling unrestrained sexual lust.

The members stressed upon the need for enacting laws to prevent such incidents. They stressed upon the Governor and the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to take notice of the incident and take action against the persons involved.
