Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Coordination Committee’s Deputy Convener, Dr Nusrat, termed the present Sindh government “a government of Sindh’s rural areas’ representatives”, saying that it (government) did not have any representation of urban areas of the province.
In a statement issued on Friday, the MQM leader said that Sindh was not the name of its rural areas alone, but the province’s urban areas were also part of the province.
“Our forefathers came to Pakistan after rendering great sacrifices with the hope that all of us will live here as Pakistani and will have respect for each other and there will be justice for all,” he remarked, deploring that even after a lapse of 65 years since Pakistan came into being, the ethnic prejudice and regional hatred had not come to an end, thereby speedily increasing the sense of deprivation among Muhajirs.
Dr Nusrat cautioned that prevailing sense of deprivation would further increase and become the cause of creating distance among the permanent inhabitants of Sindh if the persisting trend of ethnic prejudice and discrimination against Muhajir was continued unabated.
