MQM Senators term illegal detentions of workers and deaths in custody as the part of an unannounced operation against the party

Chief Justice of Pakistan should take notice of the disappearance of MQM workers
MQM Senators have expressed their concerns on the illegal arrests and enforced disappearance of MQM workers and termed it as an unannounced operation against the party. In a joint statement, the senators said that conspiracies were hatched against the MQM in every period but there was a surge in these conspiracies for the past two month.
The Senators said that a number of MQM workers and office-bearers were subjected to brutal torture while they were held in illegal detentions. Some were killed due to torture while the whereabouts of some workers could not be known despite passage of several months. No one was ready to disclose the name of the agency that was holding the missing MQM workers.
The Senators said that everyone was talking about the growth of democracy and democratic culture in the country and people were congratulating each other. What sort of democracy allowed the brutal torture and killing of innocent citizens in unlawful captivity?
The Senators said that the number missing MQM workers was constantly increasing and nothing could be known about them despite the forceful protest demonstrations of the MQM.
The Senators appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr Justice Iftakhar Muhammad Chaudhry and higher authorities of all institutions in Pakistan to take notice of the disappearance of MQM workers and take steps for their recovery.
