MQM demands increase in EOBI pensions as announced in the 2014 Budget

London: 30th April 2015
MQM Co-ordination Committee has demanded an increase in the monthly pensions of the EOBI pensioners according to promise made in the 2104 budget and called for ending injustices against poor retired employees.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the Federal Government had promised in the 2014 Budget that the rate of EOBI pensions would be revised to Rs 6000/- per month, but the notification to this effect has not been issued so far.
The Co-ordination Committee demanded PM Nawaz Sharif and the Federal Government to take serious notice of this issue as there was growing restiveness among the EOBI pensioners.
