Member Coordination committee of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) today hold the Sindh provincial government responsible for a severe water shortage that has plagued several parts of Karachi in recent weeks.
“The provincial government is responsible for the recent water crisis in Karachi. Sharjeel Memon is personally responsible for the crisis,” said MQM senior leader Farooq Sattar as he addressed a Rabita Committee press conference in Karachi.
Sattar claimed that the MQM was keeping the emotions and angry Karachi citizens under control.
“If the MQM was not there, who knows what would have happened on the streets of Karachi,” he said.
Sattar slammed Sharjeel Memon, who is the Sindh Local Government Minister, for the government’s inability to find a solution to the crisis.
“The people of Karachi would have gotten some relief if the Sindh Local Government Minister would have focused on the water crisis rather than wedding halls,” said Sattar.
Sattar termed the ‘artifical’ water crisis a punishment to the citizens of Karachi for supporting the MQM.
