MQM announces countrywide demonstrations on the absurd allegation levelled against Altaf Hussain

Zehra Shahid Hussain was inactive for the past three months and had developed differences with the party leadership on the distribution of tickets
Muttahida Quami Movement will hold protest demonstrations throughout the country and different parts of the world against the levelling of baseless and absurd allegation of the brutal murder of PTI leader Zehra Shahid Hussain on MQM Founder and Leader Altaf Hussain. This was announced by the Deputy Convener of the MQM in a press conference in Khursheed Begum Secretariat on Sunday. Deputy Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and other members were also present on the occasion.
Dr Sattar said that a large number of the people of NA – 250 were deprived of their right to vote by holding re-polling in 43 stations only.
Dr Sattar said that Imran Khan had hurt the sentiments of millions of followers of Mr Hussain by hurling a baseless allegation hence the Co-ordination Committee had decided to hold countrywide protest demonstrations.
He said that the details of the killing of Zehra Shahid Hussain were not yet available. It was not clear if it was an incident of targeted killing or the outcome of a street crime. The hatred of Imran Khan against the MQM would be requited but in a democratic, legal and constitutional manner.
He said that if everything had to be blamed on the MQM, then the falling of Imran Khan off lift in Lahore should also be blamed on the MQM. Back in 1994, prominent social worker Abdus Sattar Eidhi had divulged a conspiracy in an interview on BBC that he would be murdered and the MQM would be blamed for it.
Dr Sattar said that Zehra Shahid Hussain was inactive for the past three months and she had developed some differences with the PTI leadership on the distribution of party tickets. He said that internal disputes must also be considered during the investigation of the case.
Dr Sattar said that the MQM was constantly being subjected to terrorism and its workers were dying but we did not accuse anyone. We could have said that the extremist elements were carrying out terrorism at the behest of PTI and JI.
He said that Imran Khan had once again said in a video message that the MQM wanted to control Karachi by terrorism and creating fear. The MQM could have replied Imran Khan and his followers carried out bomb blasts in Karachi during the election campaign for taking control of Karachi with the help of extremist elements.
He said that the relations between Imran Khan and extremist elements were not hidden from anyone and he happens to be the biggest supporter of the elements who had cut the throats of personnel of armed forces.
He said that it would be wrong to impute the low turn-out in NA – 250 to the murder of Zehra Shahid Hussain. People of Karachi and Hyderabad came out in large number in spite of six bomb blasts and killing eighty people.
He said that the three bomb blasts that occurred on 11th May were not condemned and no sympathy was shown to the affected people.
He said that the low turn-out during the re-polling on 43 polling stations had exposed the tall claims of massive public support. People of Defence and Clifton expressed their confidence in the MQM by staying away from the re-polling process.
He said that the voters of 140 polling stations of NA – 250 were deprived of their right and complete partiality was shown. The MQM rejects this farcical exercise and demands re-election on NA – 250.
Dr Sattar said that it had become obvious that the mandate of the MQM was stolen and it would not augur well for democracy.
