KARACHI, 20-04-2015: Almost ten Shia groups announced full support to MQM’s candidate Kanwar Naveed Jameel in NA-246 by-election and appealed their supporters to vote for MQM on April 23.
Talking to media persons at a press conference in Khursheed Begum Secretariat, Allama Zuhair Abidi said that they stayed with their promises like before and would support MQM and Altaf Hussain. The representatives of Tanzeem-e-Azadari Pakistan, Tanzeem-e-Aza Pakistan, Tehreek-e-Nifaaz-e-Fiqa-e-Jafria, Shia Federation, Jafria Alliance, Anjuman-e-Zakireen-e-Imamia, Anjuman-e-Zakireen-e-Muhammad-o-Al-e-Muhammad, Idara Deen-o-Danish Al-e-Muhammad, Pakistan Shia Council and Idara Tableeghat-e-Islami were also present on the occasion.
Allama Zuhair said that MQM is the only political party that works for the sectarian harmony in the city and openly announced the war against terrorism and sectarian violence. He said that the imperial forces in the society tried to divide the people on sectarian basis while Mr. Hussain accumulated them into the one Ummah.
He said the Shia community never supports Taliban and ISIS terrorists and their facilitators because they are against our fundamental faith and ideology. He appealed to his community members to vote for Kanwar Naveed Jameel and defeat the people who called the Karachiites the living dead.
