Altaf Hussain’s message to the Nation
Special Message of MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain to... by MQMOfficial
The Founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the survival and existence of the country was dependent upon continuation of democracy. He said that the people must come out of their homes on 11th May and exercise their right to vote.
In his message to the nation, Mr Hussain said that a religious extremist and militant organization had announced through its messages in print and electronic media that democracy was un-Islamic and hence casting votes in general election was forbidden. They had warned that they would not allow the democratic and liberal forces to take part in elections. The extremist group had particularly names the MQM, the ANP and the PPP, and they targeted leaders, candidates and workers of all three parties. The offices of these parties were attacked with bombs.
Mr Hussain said that our courage and determination was unwavering despite the cowardly attacks of the terrorist elements. He asserted that we would not surrender before extremist forces.
Mr Hussain appealed to people to face the situation resolutely and cast their vote early in the morning by visiting their respective polling stations. He said that the people may vote for any party, but they must exercise their right to vote.
Mr Hussain prayed Almighty Allah to make Pakistan and prosperous and developed country. He said that this would be made possible if we overcome the obstacles in the path of the democratic process.
