Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Coordination Committee’s deputy Convener and a candidate for NA-249, Dr Mohammad Farooq Sattar said here on Thursday that youths’ energy and spirits together with elderly people’s experience and affection were vital for the success of any movement.
He was speaking at a huge gathering of elderly people held under the aegis of MQM’s Elders Wing at Azizabad’s Lal Qila ground. MQM’s Coordination Committee’s deputy Convener Ms Nasreen Jalil, Dr Nusrat and other members of the Committee, Haq Parast candidate Nabeel Gabol and office-bearers of the MQM Elders Wing.
Dr Farooq Sattar said that the need of the hour was to tell the opponents of Pakistan and the MQM that “why we claim that Altaf Hussain is the country’s saviour and the solution of people’s problems lies in his ideology.
Elaborating, he said that although MQM was being deprived of its democratic rights through the acts of terrorism and killing of its workers, the spirits of its workers were high.
Mentioning the presence of thousands of elders in the meeting, Dr Sattar said since the high spirits along with experience were essential ingredients for getting justice, Mr Altaf Hussain had provided experience of a force of elders to the youths in the shape of Elders wing.
He said that the MQM wanted to develop Pakistan as a progressive, liberal and enlightened country and it was for this reason that Mr Hussain had raised the slogans of empowered people and a sovereign country for the general elections.
Elders Wing was a source of guidance for the youths, Dr Sattar said, adding that it was for the first time in the country’s political history that a meeting arranged by the MQM Elders Wing had been turned into a big public meeting owing to presence of thousands of elders and for which he felicitated the MQM Elders Wing.
Later, MQM Elders Wing’s In-charge, Tayyab Hussain Hashmi, in his speech eulogized the services of Altaf Hussain for the downtrodden people of the country.
