Peaceful by-election needs of time: Qamar Mansoor

The member of Coordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement Qamar Mansoor strongly condemned the attack on MQM election camp by the workers of Jamaat-e-Islami during their rally and demanded the local administration to take notice against the incident.
In a statement, Mr. Qamar Mansoor said that the authorities should utilize all their potential to revert the attempt to sabotage the election process. He said that the past of JI leadership was not hidden from the people but there was a need to maintain peace in the city.
He said that MQM candidate for NA-246 Kanwar Naveed Jameel contacted with JI contestant to investigate the culprits who attacked MQM election campaign camp. He said that media clips could provide the evidence that who attacked on the camp, while MQM workers trying to defuse the situation.
MQM MNA and member Coordination Committee Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that their workers showed ultimate patience after MQM Chief Altaf Hussain’s directives of not to react. He said that the opponent parties had nothing but media campaign rather presenting their manifesto.
Mr Maqbool said that Jamaat-e-Islami came into the picture after PTI’s failure to provoke MQM worker to involve in violence in the constituency to make the election process controversial. He said that the peaceful elections would be the success for the concerned and all the contesting parties should sit to reach on the code of conduct during the election.
The candidate of NA-246 Kanwar Naveed said that he met with Rashid Naseem during the meeting of Election Commission and asked to sit for conducting a free and fair by-election in NA-246. He said that MQM leadership knew the sensitivity of the constituency and if there would be any violence or mishaps among the supporters and workers, the all contesting party leaderships should defuse the tension.
He said that MQM female workers were injured in the attack on the election camp that was carried out by nearly 500 of JI workers during the rally at Sharifabad area. He said that the administration should play its role properly and should take security measures prior the opponent rally passed near the campaigning camps of other parties.
