Why my sister’s home raided: Altaf Hussain
 KARACHI, 11-03-2015:
The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement said that if the raid on Nine-Zero was to arrest the criminals, why did Rangers’ personnel raid on my elder sister Saira Aslam’s home?

Talking to the MQM workers and supporters gathered at Nine-Zero and Hyderabad after the illegal raid and arbitrary arrest of number of party office-bearers, MQM Chief said that since 19th June 1992, more than hundred raids were conducted by the security forces. He said that it was incomprehensible that why were we being treated like this?

Mr. Hussain said that during those raids the security personnel used abusive language, insulted elders and women and vandalized the households. He said that his own brother 65-year old Nasir Hussain and nephew 28-year Arif Hussain were killed extra-judicially on 9th December 1995 after their arrest on 5th December 1995.

He strongly condemned the killing of MQM worker Waqas Ali Shah, who was killed by the Rangers personnel in front of men and women protesting against the raid on Nine-Zero. He said that the weapons displayed by the Rangers, did not belonged to MQM and all the weapons for the security of Nine-Zero were licensed.

Mr. Hussain said that the Rangers brought the unlicensed weapons along with them in the blanket to defame MQM. He said that MQM workers believed in peace and during the Rangers’ raid no retaliation was shown by any of the MQM workers. He said that MQM had zero tolerance policy for crime and criminals.
