MQM condemns attempt to implicate in Baldia tragedy
 Posted on: 2/8/2015 1
The Coordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement strongly condemned the attempt to involve MQM in Baldia tragedy and MQM’s media trial for a baseless statement of allegedly detained criminal.
Talking to the media persons during a press conference at Khursheed Begum Secretariat, MQM leaders Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Haider Abbas Rizvi and Dr Farooq Sattar said that the JIT report was nothing but a pile of junk and MQM would challenge it legally. They said that some of the elements of Establishment involved in spreading false allegations against MQM.
Haider Abbas Rizvi said that MQM was once again targeted for the designed propaganda and the malice elements tried to tie MQM with Baldia tragedy to isolate from the national scenario. He said that MQM strongly condemned the alleged accusation and said people knew the history of such prejudicial JITs and MQM’s acquittals from those baseless allegations.
He said that the malice designers of the Establishment blamed MQM discriminatorily in past within 17 minutes and unfortunately it needed 17 years to remove the allegation of Jinnahpur. He said that thousands of MQM workers had to sacrifice and live miserable lives because of that allegation.
Haider Abbas said that the JIT on Baldia Town incident was already presented to the court and reported that there was no evidence of extortion or terrorism in the incident. He said that the parties had their tails connected with Al-Qaida and Taliban blaming MQM for nothing and tried to convene media trial against the party.
MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar said that the JIT had no legal worth and MQM lawyers would soon go to the court against it. He said that it was just an allegation on the bases of a statement of an allegedly detained criminal, who stated that he heard the story. He said that the dumped-JIT was used against MQM to create issue and carry out a media trial against MQM.
He said they were pleased that the JIT was treated on merit in media and some unfolded questions were raised against the JIT. He demanded to constitute a judicial commission to probe the entire issue independently and also question the people who involved in the submission of fake JIT report to the court with intention to defame MQM.
