Hailing the government’s decision of reducing the prices of petroleum products, including Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), the Haq Parast members of the National Assembly, urged the government to take more measures aimed at providing further relief to poor people of the country.Describing the reduction in the petroleum prices `a good omen’, the members of the National Assembly said that though the MQM in its budget proposals had hinted towards reduction in the petroleum prices, the need of the hour was to give more subsidy on petroleum products.
In a statement issued on Friday, the MNA said that the MQM was of the view that economic conditions of the people has been deteriorated to such an extent that they have no choice but to starve and lead a miserable life .
The MNAs said that since any increase in the prices of petroleum products which include CNG and LPG and tariffs of natural gas and electricity has a direct impact on the common man, the MQM had always been demanding that the prices of these essentials must be decreased considerably by giving more subsidies on petroleum products.
At the outset, the MNAs said that the MQM was the only party which in its budget proposals had not only demanded reduction in petroleum prices but had also proposed that more and more subsidy be given to ensure petroleum prices within the reach of the common man
