An MQM delegation was led by member Coordination Committee Gulfaraz Khan Khattak called on Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to discuss the murders of MQM MNA Tahira Asif, office-bearers Bao Muhammad Anwar of Sialkot and Syed Asghar Abbas Jafri of Chiniot.
Gulfaraz Khattak informed the Chief Minister that the Punjab police was showing complete incompetency and criminal negligence for arresting the murderers. He said that the police was threatening MQM Punjab workers and office-bearers to book them in bogus cases despite arresting the murderers.
The Chief Minister Punjab ensured the delegation that the criminals would soon be comprehended and he would personally look after the matter. He also announced one million rupees for the bereaved family of Syed Asghar Abbas. Home Minister Punjab Colonel (retd) Shujaa, Rana Sanaullah, Home Secretary, AIG Punjab Police, MNA and MPA from Chiniot were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Shahbaz Sharif appreciated MQM Chief Mr. Altaf Hussain for his uninterrupted struggle against the terrorism. He said that the present terrorism gave evidence that Mr. Hussain’s claim about the terrorism was right. He also appreciated him for his effort to create harmony among the political parties of the country.
