MQM condemns attack on journalists in PTI rally

MQM Coordination Committee strongly condemned the torture on the journalists by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers during its rally, here on Friday.
In a statement, the Committee said that the torture and act of harassment against the journalists were clearly against the principal of free and fair journalism. It said that such incidents were also occurred in PTI’s rallies in other cities.
According to the details, the PTI workers attacked journalists of various channels including Geo News, Samma and others. They threw bottles and other stuff on the media workers, including senior journalist Mazhar Abbas, reporters Sidra Dar, Umema Malik and Talat Hussain.
The Coordination Committee strongly condemned the incident and termed it the fascist tradition in the history of country’s politics. It suggested PTI leadership to train its workers accordingly and stop attacking and harassing journalists. It also expressed sympathy and solidarity with the journalists.
