Dr Qadri has not come to delay the elections: Altaf Hussain
Chairman of Pakistan Awami Tehreek Dr Tahirul Qadri telephoned Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain and exchanged views on the current political situation. Dr Qadri told Mr Hussain that some elements were propagating that Dr Qadri had come to get the elections postponed and to derail the democratic system.
Mr Hussain said that the elements spinning these yarns wanted to maintain the status quo. He said that Dr Qadri had come to bring an end to the rotten feudal system, loot and plunder, corruption and the culture of getting huge bank loans written-off by illegal practices. He said that Dr Qadri had come to introduce reforms in the electoral system.
Mr Hussain said Dr Qadri had made it clear on a number of occasions that that he does not want to delay elections and that he wants the democratic process to continue. He said that the MQM has been making struggle to change the outdated feudal system for the past 35 years and it joined hands with other parties but they did nothing to abolish this system.
Mr Hussain said the MQM is supporting Dr Qadri because of ideological harmony as he has also raised the flag for eliminating the feudal system, hereditary political culture and corruption.
Dr Qadri supported the views of Mr Hussain and said that the co-operation is for putting an end to feudalism and restoring the rights of the oppressed people.
