Sectarian harmony and incidents of targeted killings were discussed in the meeting
A delegation led by noted Shia scholar Syed Aun Muhammad Naqvi called at Khursheed Begum Secretariat and held meeting with the member of the Co-ordination Committee Saif Yar Khan. In-charges and office-bearers of the Ulema Committee of the MQM and Karachi Tanzeemi Committee were also present during the meeting.
Overall political situation of the country, incidents of targeted killings and sectarian harmony were discussed at length during the meeting. Mr Yar Khan expressed concerns on the targeted killings of MQM workers and said that it was the part of a nefarious conspiracy to undermine peace and order in Karachi.
Mr Yar Khan said that Mr Altaf Hussain has played a positive role for promoting unity, brotherhood and peace among Muslims in order to root out sectarianism. He regretted that certain elements were trying to kindle sectarian strife in Karachi but hoped that this would be foiled by remaining united.
Fateha was offered for the MQM workers, office-bearers and sympathizers killed in the incidents of violence and terrorism in Karachi. Special prayers were offered for the good health and long life of Mr Altaf Hussain.
