The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM), Mr. Altaf Hussain said, “Mass migrations always create new societies and cultures and fundamental process of human history.”
In a lecture on “Hijrat and Mohajir” delivering to members Coordination Committee, Senators, MNAs, MPAs and office-bearers of MQM various wings, he said that no nation always lived at place in the regional and geographical history and people from other places kept migrating there and changed the demographic equations. He said that human history was the production of continuous migrations.
Mr. Hussain citing a verse from the holy Quran that Allah created man and divided them into various races, tribes and groups, so they could identify each other.” He said “As Allah creates man in various races and tribes to be indentified then no man has any right to say about the identification of any race or tribe un-Islamic and one, who does so, means to contempt Allah’s commandment.”
He said that no nation came into being individually and the composition of various sub-races or tribes made a single identity of a nation. He said that even in Sindh people did say themselves Sindhis but they still had their own sub-identities. He argued that if Somroo, Khoso, Lagharis, Junejo, Syeds and Baloch could be called Sindhis than why Mohajirs could not be called Sindhis while, retaining their identification.
Mr. Hussain said that some miscreants kept perverting people and said Mohajirs were the refugees while there was a huge difference between Mohajirs and refugees. He said that people who sought refuge at anywhere, had to go back to their original living place ultimately but people who left their land forever were called Mohajirs.
