'Steps taken for betterment of minorities'

SUKKUR: Sindh Minister for Information and Technology Yaqoob Ilyas Masih has said that the present government was making sincere efforts for the welfare of minorities and a number of steps had been taken to ensure betterment of the minority communities in the province. Addressing a gathering at the Mariam Colony the other day, he asked the people to supplement government efforts for the betterment of society. The minister, on the occasion, announced provision of the Sui gas to the colony. Earlier, the minister visited the Saint Saviour's Church and Sadh-Bello Shrine and announced provision of a computer for the Sadh-Bello Library. The minister also visited various local institutions of the information technology. At the IBA Sukkur, he was briefed by the head of the IT faculty, Zahid Hussain Khand, about the academic progress, ongoing projects and achievements in the field of IT and business administration. The minister appreciated efforts of the IBA for promoting the business and IT education in the interior of Sindh. He also announced scholarships for some IBA Sukkur students.
