LIVES IN DANGER

 BROTHERS OF IRSHAD KAMALI, MEMBER OF MQM CENTRAL CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE ARRESTED DURING A RAID

Heavy contingent of Police, led by notorious SHO Rao Anwar, raided the residence of Mr. Irshad Kamali son of Ikram Uddin Kamali, Member of MQM Central Co-ordination Committee, at Gulshan-e-Iqbal in Karachi. As he was not present in the house, the raiding party ransacked the house; and arrested his apolitical brothers Ehtesham Kamali and Rashid Kamali. Both of them have been taken to unknown destination.

You may recall that SHO Rao Anwar is the most notorious of police officers in Karachi. He has been actively involved in the extra-judicial executions of MQM workers and supporters since the commencement of Operation in June 1992.

We strongly fear that the lives of Rashid Kamali and Ehtesham Kamali are in grave danger in the custody of Rao Anwar, with a terrible record of unlawful and inhuman behaviour.
