Details according to information received so far are that around 3.30 p.m., Amir Zaki son of Zakaria (Member Muttahida Organising Committee and Ex-Joint Incharge of MQM Gulshan Sector) was passing through New Challi near Sindh Madrissah at Sharah Liaquat in Karachi when armed terrorists riding on a motorcycle attacked his car and opened fire. As a result Amir Zaki, MQM workers Abdul Qadeer son of Abdul Rasheed and Mustafa, who were also present in his car were shot several times. Both Amir Zaki and Abdul Qadeer died on the spot while Mustafa son of Dilawar, worker of MQM Unit 165, who was driving the car, was taken to the hospital in a serious condition where he succumbed to his injuries. According to eye-witnesses, a Pajero jeep was also providing cover to the armed terrorists and helped them to fled the scene. The firing was so immense that two persons Arshad and Zain Ul Abidin had also received bullet shots and are being treated at the local hospital.
Earlier today, in another incident at around 11 a.m., armed terrorists attacked the shop of Shahid Mumtaz Khan son of Mumtaz Khan and opened indiscriminate firing upon him. He was an office bearer of MQM Unit 134-C, Sector North Karachi.
