TARGETED KILLINGS OF MQM WORKERS AND SUPPORTERS CONTINUE…

Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) is the third largest political party of Pakistan and the second largest in the province of Sindh. Targeted killings of MQM workers and supporters continue in the urban centres of Sindh, especially Karachi. In two separate incidents Haqiqi terrorists killed two more workers and supporters of MQM ruthlessly in Korangi, Karachi, whereas several others have been arrested illegally by Law Enforcement Agencies.
I-- DETAILS OF KILLINGS
A-- Mohammad Ali Qureishi age: 24 years, son of Mohammad Rafiq Qureishi, resident of House No. A-24, Sector 35-C, Korangi No. 4, Karachi. He was a worker of MQM Unit 77, Sector Korangi.
On 24th September 1998 he was sitting on his meat shop when at 11:00 a.m., Haqiqi terrorists accompanied by Paramilitary Rangers came in a white Toyota Hiace armed with sophisticated lethal weapons. They sprayed volley of bullets on him and as a result he died on the spot.
B-- Rahat age: 28 years, son of Nizam-uddin, resident of House No. B-153, Lane No. 7, Rahimabad, Korangi, Karachi. He was a supporter of MQM Unit No. 75, Sector Korangi.
On 24th September, 1998 at 1:00 p.m., the Haqiqi terrorists accompanied by Paramilitary Rangers came to his house, situated along side Korangi Police Station and kidnapped him on gun-point. They took him to a nearby petrol pump and sprayed volley of bullets on him and as a result he died on the spot.
II-- DETAILS OF ARRESTS
23rd September 1998: At around 12:00 p.m., an MQM worker Nasim 26, son of Mohammad Yasin, was sitting in a hotel near his residence (Flat No. 12, 2nd Floor, Noor Jehan Mansion, Jauhar Street, Ranchore Line). The personnel of Eidgah Police Station raided the hotel and arrested him illegally.
20th September 1998: At around midnight, the personnel of Paramilitary Rangers raided the place of temporary residence of two MQM workers and arrested them illegally. Their details are:
1-- Wasim 30, son of Ilyas Ahmed, permanent resident of House No. B-1, C-1 Area, Liaquatabad. He was a worker of MQM Unit 166, Sector Liaquatabad.
2-- Abdul Mallick 32, son of Sheikh Ullah, resident of House No. A-30, C-1 Area, Liaquatabad. He was the unit incharge of MQM Unit 166, Sector Liaquatabad.
