Police raid MQM Offices
Karachi; The police and other law-enforcing agencies conducted
raids on sector and unit offices of the Mutehida Qaumi Movement
(MQM) in Korangi and destroyed furniture and party books.
The police conducted night-long raids on the houses of MQM
workers and supporters in Nasir Colony 33-B, 33-C, 33-D, areas
and Noorani Basti and forcibly entered the houses, victimised
women and threatened them of serious consequences. The peoples of
the area complained that only the MQM workers and supporters were
target of the raids, while the Police and Rangers took no action
against the Haqiqi 'terrorists'. The chief of MQM, Altaf Hussain,
expressed deep shock and grief over the brutal killing an
elderly workers, Shamsuddin of Baldia Town sector, who was
kidnapped from his house on Monday and body was recovered from
Orangi Extension Tuesday.
