ELECTED MQM COUNCILLOR AMONG FOUR OTHERS SHOT DEAD IN COLD BLOOD BY THE HAQIQI TERRORISTS

Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) is the third largest political party of Pakistan and the second largest in the province of Sindh, southern Pakistan. MQM is in coalition Government with the ruling party PML (Pakistan Muslim League) both on the Federal and Provincial levels.
DETAILS OF KILLINGS
A-- On 2 July 1998, in the afternoon, Jamil Uddin Ahmed, the newly elected councillor for Karachi Cantonment Board, belonging to the MQM, was sitting at his office when the Haqiqi terrorists namely, Abdul Qadir, Iqrar Hussain, Shahid alias Denter, Sajid alias Tanki, escorted by the personnel of Law Enforcement Agencies forcibly entered into his office. They opened bursts of fire with automatic weapons upon Jamil Ahmed. He was severely injured in this attack and taken to Jinnah Hospital but succumbed to injuries and died. It is to be noted that Jamil Ahmed has been the councillor for the same area for many years and was re-elected this year with an overwhelming majority.
Jamil Uddin Ahmed, age: 32 year, son of Jamal Ahmed, resident of House No. 499, Mohajireen Masjid, Bazarta Line No. 4, Karachi. He was a worker and the elected councillor of MQM.
B-- In afternoon the Haqiqi terrorists in a Suzuki Hi-roof Van, along with the personnel Law Enforcement Agencies suddenly opened fire on the pedestrians in Nazimabad, Karachi. Due to this two MQM supporter including a 35-year old women and an elderly man were shot dead. Their details are:
C-- At Burns Road, Karachi, in the afternoon, the Haqiqi terrorists shot dead Zaki Ahmed son of Mirza Hussain Baig, a 42-year-old supporter of MQM. Zaki Ahmed was just passing by the Sobhraj Hospital when he was identified and shot in the head by the Haqiqi terrorists riding on a motorcycle.
DETAILS OF ARRESTS
D-- The personnel of Mahmoodabad Police Station have arrested three MQM workers while they were travelling on a motorcycle in Manzoor Colony, Mahmoodabad, Karachi. These arrested MQM workers belong to Unit 43, Sector Mahmoodabad and have been detained without any charges at the Mahmoodabad Police Station. Their details are:
E-- At around 4 a.m., the personnel of Pak Colony Police Station raided the house of an MQM worker and arrested him. They entered the house by breaking the front door. The raiding party also misbehaved with the female members of the family. Details of the arrested worker:
Mairaj Uddin, age: 30 year, son of Jamil Uddin, resident of 3/2 Aiksar Colony, Karachi. He is a worker of MQM Unit 191, Sector Pak Colony.
F-- At around 2.30 a.m., the personnel of Sukkhan Police Station along with the Paramilitary Rangers raided several houses of MQM workers and supporters in Landhi 93-B, Karachi and arrested them. During these raids they misbehaved with the female family members and physically manhandled the male members of the family. Details of those arrested are:
G-- Two mobile armoured personnel carriers (APC 566) entered Liaquatabad, Karachi and arrested Nauman, an MQM worker of Unit 164, Sector Liaquatabad.
Nauman, age: 17 year, son of Mohammad Saleem, resident of 3/465, Liaquatabad No. 4, Karachi.
DETAILS OF TORTURE, ATTACK AND INJURIES
H-- At around 12.15 p.m., the Haqiqi terrorists in a yellow cab and motorcycle escorted by the personnel of law enforcement agencies attacked the shop of Asif Ali Khan in Zuberi Colony, Karachi. They shot him from point blank range. Fortunately, Asif was shot in the jaw. He was rushed to the hospital and is presently being treated in the intensive care unit.
Asif Ali Khan, age: 24 year, son of Afsar Raza Khan, resident of House No. 8/9, Mujahidabad, Wilayatabad, Karachi. He is a worker of MQM Unit 187, Sector Pak Colony. His father Afsar Raza Khan is also the member of MQM Elders Committee.
