Salman Ahmed Khan, Incharge of
MQM Unit 162, Ruthlessly Murdered by theHaqiqi Terrorists near
the City Court Karachi
Salman Ahmed Khan, age: 25
years, son of Zubair Ahmed Khan, resident of House No. 274/5,
Liaquatabad No. 5, Karachi, Incharge of MQM Unit 162, Sector
Liaquatabad, Karachi.
On 21 March 1998, at around 10 a.m., Salman Ahmed Khan along
with his mother went to the City Court, Karachi to attend a
hearing. He parked his motorcycle in the parking lot adjacent to
the City Court building. After the hearing he was coming out of
the Court building to get his motorcycle when the Haqiqi
Terrorists who had been following him, opened fire upon him.
Salman Ahmed Khan received bullet wounds at his head, neck and
chest; as a consequence he died on the spot. Despite the
deployment of heavy contingents of Police, Paramilitary Rangers
and personnel of other law enforcement agencies at the City
Court, the Haqiqi terrorists under the protection of the
Intelligence Agencies were allowed to carry out their terrorist
activity and escape without any resistance from the law
enforcers.
You would recall that in a similar incident on 3 April 1997,
Mr. Abdul Khaliq an MQM worker was shot dead by the Haqiqi
terrorists near the same City Court, in almost the same manner.
This blatant murder of Salman Ahmed Khan by the Haqiqi terrorists
within the vicinity of City Court in broad daylight and their
unhindered escape once again proves that the Intelligence
Agencies are protecting and patronising the Haqiqi terrorists.
Since the General Elections of February 1997, the Intelligence
Agencies and their "agents of persecution", the Haqiqi
terrorists have murdered more than 115 MQM workers and
supporters.
You might be aware that MQM issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the
ruling Pakistan Muslim League (PML) to abolish the NO GO AREAS
(i.e. Landhi, Korangi, Malir, Shah Faisal Colony and Lines Area)
otherwise the MQM would no longer remain as a coalition partner
with the present Government. Only two days ago the negotiating
team of Pakistan Muslim League headed by the Chief Minister Sindh
and other leaders or ruling PML signed a written agreement with
the Central Co-ordination Committee of the MQM. They agreed that
immediate measures would be taken to ensure that the NO GO AREAS
are abolished and that the Haqiqi Terrorists responsible for the
forcible occupation of these areas would be disarmed and
apprehended. Instead of apprehending and disarming the Haqiqi
terrorists, their terrorist activities have intensified many
folds, and they have murdered another office bearer of MQM in
broad daylight.
